Academic Staff Member – Assistant Professor for the Department of Finance and Accounting

The Department of Finance and Accounting at the Faculty of Business and Economics focuses on a modern approach to finance, capital markets, and their connections with corporate finance, as well as tax and accounting aspects. What will be your job role?

  • conducting teaching activities in the field of banking, with an extension into financial markets
  • providing expert supervision of students’ final theses
  • publishing research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • collaborating on the preparation of both domestic and international project proposals
  • actively participating in the implementation of research projects and grant assignments
  • representing the university and the institute at professional conferences
  • cooperating with colleagues at MENDELU and other institutions on educational and research activities

What are our requirements?

  • a university degree at Ph.D. level in finance, banking, or related disciplines
  • excellent knowledge of Czech language and advanced knowledge of English
  • at least 2 years of professional experience in finance, banking, or financial markets, or in an academic environment focusing on these areas
  • implementation of grant and project proposals
  • personal and professional qualities suitable for teaching and research activities
    including a willingness to pursue further professional development and engage in international collaborations
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Required research experience:

  • experience in carrying out research activities (including publication in professional journals)

Job status: 0,3 (12 hours per week)

Expected start: February 2025

Employment contract: fixed term till 30.06.2027
