In accordance with the The Competitive Hiring Process Code of Charles University, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University announces opening of the following position with submission deadline February 15, 2025

The position includes teaching, supervising students, conducting research, and managing own grant projects in geophysics and seismology.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in physical modeling of earthquakes. Advanced knowledge in earthquake source physics, dynamic rupture models, seismic wave propagation, numerical methods, and inverse problems in geophysics. Publication activity in this area, experience in obtaining grant funding. Positive attitude towards teaching, ability to link scientific activities and teaching. Completion of a postdoctoral fellowship abroad is a prerequisite. The candidate should be able to teach in both Czech and English.
