The dean of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, invites applications for job vacancy with a deadline for applications October 13, 2024

Teaching in B.A. and M.A. programme in Hebraic and Jewish Studies. Advising and reviewing bachelor’s and master’s theses. Original research and publication of its results in major peer-reviewed journals and scientific monographs. Regular active participation in international conferences. Preparation of grant projects of the department and participation in their solution. Participation in the operation of the basic unit of the faculty.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree with a focus on modern Jewish history in Central and Eastern Europe. Prospect of starting a habilitation procedure with the same focus within three years of joining. Knowledge of Yiddish, enabling research work with original sources. Expertise in modern Jewish history with a focus on Jews in the Czech lands with an overlap to minority history. International publishing activities in prestigious publishing platforms. Experience with international grant activities. Experience with teaching in English at university.
