Academic Staff Member – Assistant Professor for the Department of Landscape Planning

Research field: comprehensive landscape research, development of landscape planning methodology and application of geographic information systems

We are a modern university, teaching and researching agriculture, forestry, economic and technical disciplines in regional and international contexts. Since 2018, we have been the holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award for improving employee care, awarded to us as the first Czech university by the European Commission.

In its research, the Department deals with topics such as spatial and landscape planning, 3D modelling of landscape development, study of the historical cultural landscapes and heritage management as well as participatory planning issue.

What will be your job role?

  • teaching focused on landscape, landscape planning and GIS
  • participation in seminars, workshops and landscape planning studios
  • conducting lectures and exercises in Czech and English
  • supervision and reviewing of the bachelor and diploma theses
  • publishing bibliometric and non-bibliometric research results in the field of landscape planning
  • preparation and participation in the research, artistic, and/or developing projects

What are our requirements?

  • a university degree at Ph.D. level in the field of landscape architecture and landscape planning
  • expertise in landscape architecture and landscape planning
  • excellent knowledge of the Czech language
  • ability to teach and publish in both Czech and English
  • interest in teaching and research work at the university
  • teaching experience
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required research experience:

  • experience of independent professional work in landscape architecture and design
  • experience in field research – data collection
  • ability to work in GIS and 3D landscape modelling
  • publishing in the field of landscape architecture and planning

Job status: 0,2 (8 hours per week)

Expected start: March 2025

Employment contract: fixed term for 1 year with possibility for extension
