Academic Staff Member – Assistant Professor for the Department of Technology and Automobile Transport

We are a modern university, teaching and researching agriculture, forestry, economic and technical disciplines in regional and international contexts. Since 2018, we have been the holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award for improving employee care, awarded to us as the first Czech university by the European Commission.

The Faculty of AgriSciences of MENDELU is one of the founding faculties of Mendel University in Brno. For more than a hundred years we have been educating experts not only for the field of agriculture.

The Department of Technology and Automotive Transport was established in its present form on 1 March 2001 by merging the former Institute of Fundamentals of Technology and Repair and part of the Institute of Agricultural Technology. Currently, the Institute employs 14 academic staff, including 1 professor, 5 associate professors and 5 assistant professors.

What will be your job role?

  • conducting lectures and exercises in the field of Physics in Czech and English
  • conducting diploma and bachelor theses
  • publishing in scientific journals, with IF
  • preparing projects of TAČR, GAČR, SV

What are our requirements?

  • a university degree at Ph.D. level in physics/applied physics/applied mechanics or similar
  • excellent knowledge of Czech and English language
  • ability to lecture and publish in English
  • active participation in scientific projects, ability to prepare projects and orientation in grant opportunities
  • knowledge of Matlab/Mathematica/Maple or other

Required research experience:

  • experience in managing scientific research projects, submitting via IS

Job status: 1,0 (40 hours per week)

Expected start: August 2025

Employment contract: fixed term for 1 year with the possibility of extension
