The dean of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, invites applications for job vacancy with a deadline for applications May 20, 2025
Assistant at the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship (ÚISK) Teaches in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in the field of early book culture (up to 1800), regularly updating and innovating their teaching with current research findings. Serves on committees for state bachelor’s examinations and, where applicable, on admission committees. Supervises bachelor’s theses. Publishes in leading peer-reviewed journals or highly regarded scholarly monographs or edited volumes, at least partially at an international level, and demonstrates clear potential for academic advancement in their publications and research activities. Participates actively and regularly in international conferences. Typically participates in grant-funded research projects. Contributes to administrative activities within the institute.

If the career development plan is required, it must aim to commence the habilitation procedure (procedure for the granting of associate professorship) no later than nine years after the expected beginning of employment.
Based on the committee’s decision, either all applicants or selected applicants only will be invited to the second round of the competition, i.e. an interview.

Qualifications
- Doctoral students in the fields of information science or auxiliary historical sciences who plan to defend their dissertation within one year. Preferred qualifications: Professional and publishing activity in the field of book culture; experience in supervising theses, basic knowledge of Latin.
