The discovery of gravitational waves has brought a revolution in modern physics, opening up a new observational window into the Universe. In this project, the student will work on the development of machine learning tools for the detection and statistical analysis of gravitational waves from the mergers of black holes or neutron stars, using cutting-edge deep learning tools in Python. The results will be relevant for the science of current and future interferometer missions such as LIGO and LISA, and the student will gain hands-on experience with methods at the forefront of current research.

The prerequisite for the internship is a strong foundation of Python and PyTorch.
