Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, represented by the Dean of the Faculty, announces an open competition according to the Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions

for the project New Technologies for Translational Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences /NETPHARM,
Project No.: CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004607,

within the Operation Programme Johannes Amos Commenius (OP JAK), P 1: Research and Development, SO 1.1: Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and deploying advanced technologies,

to fill 2 research positions:

FaF_VZ2_56: Researcher (Ph.D.), 0,2 FTE (20 %),

FaF_VZ2_57: Researcher (Ph.D.), 0,2 FTE (20 %),

Place of work: Hradec Králové

Responsibilities/Job description:

  • Independently conducts experimental research activities in the relevant area.
  • Design, organization of work, planning and conducting experiments for VZ2/WP2, data analysis, image processing of results, publication of professional results.
  • Preparation and testing of new substances and drug formulations.
  • Cultivation of cell lines and ensuring the operation of the laboratory for work with cell lines.
  • Study of the biological effects of new substances with cells in vitro or on animal organs (e.g. monitoring the viability and expression of metabolic genes using gene reporter assay, RT-PCR and western blotting methods).
  • Analysis of the expression and biological effects of new substances in comparison with known ligands.
  • Statistical evaluation of data obtained on cell lines, bioinformatic analysis of data.
  • Basic knowledge of docking small molecules into protein structures.
  • Presentation and publication of obtained results on an international scale.
  • Involvement in the preparation of follow-up national and international projects.
  • Participation in key project activities with an emphasis on application potential.

Requirements:

  • 1 first-author publication or co-authorship in a prestigious publication is an advantage, a letter of recommendation from 2 experts in the field (at least 1 from a foreign institution), required education in the relevant field, grant activity, active knowledge of the English language.
  • Scientific and publishing activity in the field of pharmacology, toxicology or medicinal chemistry.
  • Experience with biological methods, knowledge of the metabolic effects of nuclear receptor ligands,
  • Education in biochemistry, molecular biology, and pharmacology are an advantage.

The estimated monthly wage: 45 000 CZK (1.0 FTE)

The start of work: 1 January or can be negotiated

Type of employment contract: for 1-3 years, with the expectation that the contract will be extended until 29 February 2028.

Employment: part-time (0.2 FTE).
