Academic Staff Member – Lecturer in the field of interior design, technologies and furniture constructions

Research field: furniture construction, 3D printing of furniture using alternative materials, furniture design and interior design

At the Department of Design and Furniture students gain knowledge of production technologies, historical development and furniture production, typology, ergonomics, construction and sizing of furniture, as well as production technologies for upholstered furniture. Attention is also paid to other materials used in the production of wooden and non-wooden furniture (plastics, adhesives and paints), including their application in furniture production, testing, standardisation and metrology. In the field of research, the department closely cooperates with the accredited Furniture Testing Institute.

What will be your job role?

  • teaching in the fields of interior design, design, technology and furniture construction, CAD applications and furniture upholstery
  • carrying out research and development projects of the Department
  • active participation in conferences
  • publication of research and development results at conferences and in scientific journals
  • cooperation with domestic and foreign universities and industrial partners

What are our requirements?

  • Master’s degree in wood design, woodworking and furniture production
  • active knowledge of the Czech language
  • ability to work with CAD applications
  • knowledge of modelling processes using the Finite Element Method
  • knowledge of furniture design principles
  • experience and knowledge of interior design, furniture design and furniture upholstery
