We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the Rare Earth and Uranium Science Research Group. The successful candidate will work on innovative projects focused on the production and characterization of thin films of topological materials, known for their unique electronic properties and potential applications in next-generation technologies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact research and collaborate with experts in the field.

What will you do

  • Develop and optimize methods for producing high-quality thin films using dc sputtering.
  • Conduct X-ray diffraction analysis to investigate the structural properties of thin films.
  • Use other solid-state characterization techniques to comprehensively characterize thin films.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, both within the institution and with external collaborators.
  • Prepare and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.

What do we expect

  • Ph.D. in Solid State Physics/Chemistry or a related field.
  • Proven experience in producing thin films and applying XRD methods for their analysis.
  • Familiarity with other characterization techniques (e.g. scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), spectroscopy methods) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of magnetic properties and electrical resistivity measurements is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in experimental design and data interpretation, attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
