The Intelligent NanoEngineering Group at Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic is looking for a highly motivated person to join our team for a fully funded PhD project. The project focuses on designing smart antioxidant nanomedicine for ischemic stroke. These nanomaterials will target the delivery of antioxidant nanozymes to regulate reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels in ischemic stroke. This research aims to advance nanomedicine and materials science, offering new therapeutic strategies for stroke-induced oxidative stress. It holds the potential to revolutionize treatment approaches. The program is funded by the Czech Science foundation.

We are looking for candidates with:
- Master’s degree in materials science, nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
- Strong interest and self-motivation in interdisciplinary research of nanomaterials and medicine.
- Good communication skills in English (both written and oral).
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Nanoparticle design, synthesis and characterization
- Characterization techniques such as SEM, DLS, XRD, XPS, etc.
- Drug delivery system design, synthesis and characterization
- Cell biology or Enzymology is a plus
