announces a selection procedure for 2 posts of
Candidates for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024 – Postdoc in Machining, Engineering Metrology and Additive Technologies (researcher)

for the Department of Machining, Assembly and Egineering Metrology
The position is suitable for both women and men.

We are searching for Ph.D. holders (up to 8 years of from the date of award), who have not resided in the Czech Republic for more than 12 months during last 3 years at the time of the deadline (11 Sep 2024).

Researchers in the following research areas are particularly welcome:

  • Convetional and non-conventional methods of machining technologies.
  • Metrology (coordinate measurement, determination of errors and uncertainties).
  • Additive manufacturing of metals, polymers and composite materials (topological optimization, designs of bionic structures and lattice structures, and multi-material printing).
  • Materials for additive technologies.
  • Evaluation of surface integrity.

 Required expertise:

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Visionary Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire researchers towards groundbreaking discoveries.

Activity description:

  • As a member of the Department of Machining, Assembly and Egineering Metrology, you will contribute to research and experimental activities focused on machining difficult-to-machine materials, measurement of dimensional and shape characteristics, evaluation of surface integrity parameters, 3D printing of new materials with added value, modification of surface layers after 3D printing, biomedical applications and others.
  • Publishing in impact journals Q1 (Q2).
  • Participating in contacts with other partner workplaces.
  • Participation in the preparation of projects from national and international sources.

Type of job contract:                            fixed-term employment contract with the possibility of extension
Expected start of employment:      1.6.2025 or as agreed

We require:

  • A researcher who independently solves complex scientific research tasks in the field actively publishes.
  • Researcher in the field of additive manufacturing, modern and innovative technologies, conventional and non-conventional machining, measurement and 3D scanning, the development of automated additive manufacturing with a follow-up to the measurement of shape-complex components and monitoring of the 3D printing process.
  • Required qualification Ph.D.
  • Active knowledge of the English language.
