Job description

We explore the fascinating world of 2D materials, focusing on their tunability through various external stimuli, including electric field, strain, and light. As our team member, you’ll investigate topics such as TMDC/metal interactions, twisted van der Waals heterostructures, or photoelectrocatalysis of 2D semiconductors.

We are looking for someone who is:

–           passionate about world-class research

–           a quick learner with a talent for independent thinking

–           a collaborative team player with strong research integrity

You will work closely with leading 2D materials experts, Dr. Otakar Frank and Dr. Martin Kalbáč, based at our Institute. Additionally, our global collaborations span high-profile researchers in the USA, Germany, and the United Kingdom. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art facilities and specialized instruments, such as tip-enhanced Raman/PL spectroscopy, localized microdroplet electrochemistry, or UHV exfoliation of 2D materials.

Our institute is one of the leading research facilities in the Czech Republic, continuing the legacy of Nobel Prize winner J. Heyrovský and holding the HR Excellence in Research Award. Located in Prague, a vibrant hub of education, science, and culture, this beautiful city offers excellent transport links, diverse culinary options, and attractive outdoor spaces.
