Department of Mathematics and Statistics  at the Faculty of Science MU is opening 1 postdoctoral position associated to a research project.

Job Description

Key Duties: The candidate will conduct research in the area of ordinary differential and/or difference equations with the emphasis on the oscillation and spectral theory, including the theory of dynamic equations on time scales, within the project Oscillation theory on hybrid time domains with applications in spectral and matrix analysis, principal investigator Roman Simon Hilscher.

Skills and Qualifications

The applicant must have:

  • A PhD degree in mathematics or related areas within 8 years after the award (or be close to obtaining one)
  • Experience and strong background in the area of ordinary differential equations and/or difference equations and/or dynamic equations on time scales
  • Good communication skills and fluency (oral and written) in English
  • Good and relevant publication record
