Přehled

IOCB Prague, Ullrich Jahn Group – Chemistry of Natural Products

The project aims at the development of new amination reactions using persistent nitrogen-centered radicals, for the synthesis of nitrogen-rich small organic molecules. In collaboration, the pharmacological profile of the synthesized molecules will be assessed by patch clamp electrophysiology on voltage gated calcium ion channels. The analgesic properties of the best hit molecules will be assessed in vivo in validated behavioral preclinical pain models.

The candidate holds a PhD degree in organic chemistry and has strong expertise in organic chemistry, is interested in methodology development and mechanism elucidation, can independently design and perform syntheses of complex molecules, develop synthetic methodology, has experience with all relevant analytical and lab techniques, and is able to analyze and summarize experimental data. The candidate collaborates and participates in group activities, is organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic to be part of an organic chemistry project linked to drug discovery and can communicate and write proficiently in English.
