Přehled
The research of the Materials with Controlled Microstructure group focuses on the preparation, characterization, and theory of a broad spectrum of structural metallic materials – from single crystals to oriented bi- and tricrystals, and up to materials with micro- and/or nanocrystalline structures.
An important part of our research represents theoretical modeling of the dislocation behavior and/or grain boundary segregation.
What is it about
- We are looking for somebody skilled in molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of metals and metallic materials.
- We focus on metallic materials, currently, with alloys with high entropy and shape memory alloys.
- You will simulate precipitation processes, transformation, and mechanical behavior in metallic materials.
- You will collaborate and participate in the design of experiments to confirm theories.
- You will propose and realize your ideas.
- You will visit conferences and prepare publications.
What we expect
- PhD in Physics/Modelling/Mathematics.
- Communicative English.
- Knowledge of simulation, modelling – Molecular Dynamics.
- Knowing more types of modelling – FEM, DFT, CALPHAD, etc. is an advantage.
- Knowledge of programming and Machine Learning is an advantage (Python preferred).
- Independence and responsible personality; we have just started to build a theoretical team, and only an external expert may help with issues.
- Knowledge (at least theoretical) of experimental techniques is an advantage.
- Ability to write publications, presentations at conferences.
What we can offer
- Possibility of material analyses by the most advanced methods (µCT, SAXS, TEM, EBSD, APT, etc.).
- Unique instrumentation (melting furnaces, powder metallurgy, annealing, 3D printer, etc.)
- Friendly team
Our benefits
- Interesting work in cutting-edge research and development
- 5 weeks of vacation + 6 days of personal leave
- Home office mode partially available
- After the first year of employment, contribution to pension and life insurance, contribution to recreation, culture, or sports
- Czech/ English lessons at the workplace
- In-house yoga classes
- Multisport card and other benefits
