About the PEC Centre

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the PEC (Particle Engineering Center) led by Prof. Aleš Slíva. PEC focuses on understanding of advanced particle systems in many industry aplications. The center aims to bridge research in particle design, characterization, and optimization with real-world industrial applications. It will serve as a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration among chemists, materials engineers, and nanotechnology experts. With state-of-the-art technology and strong research infrastructure, the center aspires to become a key player in the field of particle engineering both nationally and internationally.

Position Overview

The Postdoctoral researcher will:

  • Contribute to ongoing research projects within the Particle Engineering Center
  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in the field of particle design, formulation, and characterization
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences
  • Assist in supervising graduate and undergraduate students
  • Support the development of grant proposals and project reports

Research Focus

  • Designing, engineering, and characterization of advanced particle systems: applications in pharmaceuticals, materials science, and nanotechnology.
  • Developing of  innovative solutions for controlled drug delivery: improved material functionality, and sustainable production techniques. Interdisciplinary approaches combining experimental work, modeling, and data analysis will be strongly encouraged.
  • Artificial intelligence: integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into particle engineering processes and proposal of new material modelling. This includes the use of machine learning and data-driven approaches to optimize particle design, predict behavior, and enhance process efficiency.
