In accordance with the The Competitive Hiring Process Code of Charles University, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University announces opening of the following position with submission deadline September 15, 2024

Department offers a friendly working environment with offices at historical center of Prague (Czech Republic) at Lesser Town and at the new building in Troja, where also a brand new fully-equiped robotic lab is located. The applicant is expected to obtain and lead research projects and to connect own research with teaching and supervising students.

Qualifications

  • Professor or equivalent abroad in a relevant area by the starting date, fluent command of written and spoken English, research and teaching experience in a relevant field, positive attitude towards pedagogical work, ability to integrate research and teaching activities as well as supervise student theses, a research team leader with own research program and principal investigator of research projects, excellent publication record in impact journals and/or proceedings of prestigious computer science conferences in relevant fields, experience from foreign academic or research institutions. Experience from collaboration with the industry and some command of Czech are welcome.

Expertise

  • Robotics, agent technologies, automated planning, knowledge representation, or machine learning. Basic background in formal methods (logic and/or statistics) and experience with applications is a plus.
