Overview

X-ray laboratory Rotan is an institutional laboratory focused on analysis of solid matter using X-ray diffraction and computed tomography. The members of the laboratory do not carry on their own material reasearch, rather they do cooperate with other FZU teams.

What will you do

The scientific activity of the laboratory consist in the development of analytical methods of X-ray diffraction, X-ray reflektivity, small-angle X-ray scattering and computed tomography in order to utilise them for structure and microstructure analysis of solid matter and processes that originate in alternation of atomic structure or microstructure.

What do we expect

  • Minimum requirement for education: master degree in solid state physics or materials engineering or equivalent. Focus of master or doctoral thesis on analytical methods, especially diffraction or tomography, alternatively later professional focus in this field (publications)
  • Cooperative personality, ability and agility in communication of requirements and results.
  • English spoken and written, capability of wording the experimental work and results/conclusions for the sake of publications. Team spirit rather than competitive.
