IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center is a leading research, development, and innovation centre active in the fields of High-Performance Computing (HPC), Data Analytics (HPDA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Quantum Computing (QC) and their applications. We have strong international links and employ more than 150 scientific, technical, and administrative staff. At present, IT4Innovations is running three supercomputers: Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s, installed in the summer of 2021), Barbora (849 TFlop/s, installed in the autumn of 2019), the specialised NVIDIA DGX-2 system for artificial intelligence computations, (130 TFlop/s and 2 PFlop/s in AI, installed in the spring of 2019), and will host quantum computer thanks to the LUMI-Q HE project. To the Laboratory for Advances Data Analysis and simulation is looking for the position:

RESEARCHER – AI model optimization

Required expertise: AI model development.

Activity description:

  • development of new AI model architectures,
  • optimization of training and inference pipelines for AI models,
  • training activities in the field of AI,
  • collaborate with a well established group of developers and researchers creating highly innovative platforms that make life easier for other scientists.

Full time equivalent: full-time employment, 100%
Type of job contract: fixed-term employment
Expected start of employment: 1. 9. 2024 or as agreed

We require:

  • minimum Ph.D. in computer science,
  • required experience:
    • advanced knowledge of AI libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow,
    • proven scientific record in AI modelling, algorithm optimization,
    • broad knowledge of models and trends in the  AI community,
    • experience with model execution profiling,
    • proficiency with git,
    • work in Linux environment and CLI,
  • optional experience with the following technologies is an advantage:
    • experience with High Performance Computing systems,
    • experience in profiling IO operation and related optimization,
  • will to work in an international environment which requires good communication skills in the English language both spoken and written,
  • ability to learn new technologies and to work in a dynamic research environment.
