RESEARCHER – GRANT SPECIALIST

The Department of Nanochemistry at the Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovation of the Technical University of Liberec uses the tools of organic and inorganic chemistry for the preparation and chemical modification of (nano)materials. The department cooperates with dozens of companies within the Czech Republic (e.g. Škoda Auto, Preciosa) and the international outreach of the department is enhanced by cooperation with foreign universities (e.g. University of Rhode Island, University of Turin).

The Department of Nanochemistry is looking to expand its project activities and is therefore looking for an experienced researcher to join its team to prepare and implement new research projects.

What will be your job

  • you will work with the Departmen of Grant Support to identify suitable grant opportunities and project partners
  • you will coordinate and lead project teams during project preparation and implementation – you will build your own research group
  • you will prepare and implement contract research
  • you will participate in existing projects and contracts in close collaboration with commercial and academic partners

What we expect

  • completed doctoral studies (Ph.D. or equivalent) in science, technology or materials
  • long-term scientific research experience
  • experience in the preparation and management of scientific research projects
  • knowledge of Czech and English at least at C1 level
  • high level of inventiveness and creativity

Working time and salary

  • researcher (C2) will your position
  • we would like to employ you 100 % of the time (40 hours/week), but we can also agree on a lower level – at least 50 %
  • your taking up ideally immediately, but a later start date is also possible
  • we offer you a fixed-term contract with the possibility of indefinite extension depending on the success in the preparation and implementation of projects
  • you will be awarded a supplement or an exceptional bonus on top of your agreed salary based on a positive evaluation of your performance

Information on the selection procedure

The vacancy will be filled in the first round by examination of the documents submitted, and in the second round by personal interview or online interview with the selected candidates. All applicants will be informed of the result within 30 days of the selection of the suitable candidate.
