The Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure, ref. number: OU-74354/25-2025, to fill a systemized non-academic position of:

Researcher II – Research Fellow – Economic and Social History within the GA ČR project An Environmental History of Transboundary Rivers in Cold War East-Central Europe, reg. no. 24-11526S

Expected starting date:

·         1st of July, 2025, or by agreement.

Working hours:

·         part-time – 20 % (with an 18-month employment contract).

Language in which the selection procedure will be conducted:

·         English.

Salary:

·         7 250 CZK / month (brutto).

Job description:

·         interdisciplinary research on the intersections of environmental-, economic-, and social history as well as related environmentally focused humanities disciplines more precisely in the following areas: the environmental history of East-Central Europe;

·         collaborating in a research team with other researchers at the University of Ostrava;

·         active publishing activities according to the requirements of the field and in accordance with the project proposal.

Requirements:

·         5-10 years after obtaining Ph.D. in environmental-, economic-, and social history, as well as related environmentally focused humanities disciplines;

·         EU research level: R2 – Recognized;

·         active publication activity including at least 1 publication in WoS or SCOPUS databases;

·         excellent English, comparable to level C2 of the Common European Framework Reference for Languages;

·         experience in basic research in some of the above-mentioned areas;

·         extensive international collaboration and academic stay experience;

·         excellent communication and organisational skills;

·         strong ability to work in a team;

·         independent, responsible and creative approach to work.
