Overview

IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center is a leading centre for research, development and innovation in High Performance Computing (HPC), Data Analytics (HPDA), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing (QC) and their applications. We have strong international links and employ over 150 scientific, technical and administrative staff. IT4Innovations currently operates two supercomputers: Karolina (15.7 PFlop/s, installed in summer 2021), Barbora (849 TFlop/s, installed in autumn 2019), and will host a quantum computer thanks to the LUMI-Q HE project. IT4Innovations is a member of the consortium operating the largest European supercomputer LUMI.

We seek candidates for the position Senior HPC Specialist: Senior Quantum Computing Operations Specialist for the LUMI-Q quantum computer.

Activity description:
· system management and operations of the quantum computer,
· participation in quantum computing related international projects,
· participation in training and dissemination activities.

Full time equivalent: 1,0
Type of job contract: fixed-term employment limited to 3 years, with planned prolongation
Expected start of employment: 1. 2. 2025 or as agreed

We require:
· university degree in quantum technologies or related fields,
· experience in experimental research, specifically in operation of experimental research devices,
· willingness and ability to learn and explore,
· basic knowledge of programming/scripting (for example C/C++, Bash, Python),
· English language.

Skills considered an advantage:
· PhD degree,
· experience in quantum circuit programming,
· experience in handling Low pressure/Vacuum equipment and Microwave electronics,
· basic knowledge of OS Linux.
