The dean of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, invites applications for job vacancy with a deadline for applications December 15, 2024

Job description: teaching in the given field of specialization at the level of bachelor’s and master’s studies serving as bachelor thesis examiner, possibly as bachelor thesis supervisor, and as an examiner in committees for state and entrance examinations participation in projects conducted by the Institute of Translation Studies

If the career development plan is required, it must aim to commence the habilitation procedure (procedure for the granting of associate professorship) no later than nine years after the expected beginning of employment.

Based on the committee’s decision, either all applicants or selected applicants only will be invited to the second round of the competition, i.e. an interview.

Qualifications

  • M.A. degree in Translation Studies excellent knowledge of Czech and English (both C2 level) enabling to hold translation seminars mainly from English into Czech and Translation Studies seminars experience in translation between Czech and English in various fields teaching experience (previous teaching experience in translation studies is welcome) user skills in computer-assisted translation, machine translation and localization is an advantage
