Overview

In accordance with the The Competitive Hiring Process Code of Charles University, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University announces opening of the following position with submission deadline February 10, 2025

The positions will be funded by Dr. Man’s project PRIMUS/25/SCI/008 „Automorphic forms for symplectic groups via trace formula“ and Dr. Cech’s project PRIMUS/25/SCI/017 „Multiple Dirichlet series and analytic number theory“. The expected duration of the position is September 1, 2025–August 31, 2028 (negotiable). Strong applicants from all areas of number theory (broadly interpreted) are welcome to apply, although preference may be given to the theory of automorphic forms, L-functions and analytic number theory. Teaching is negotiable. The knowledge of Czech is not required. Informal inquiries concerning the positions are welcome. Candidates who progress to the second round of the selection procedure will be invited for an interview. The interview may be conducted by means of information and communication technology if justified, at the request of the candidate. The Committee may invite selected candidates to give a lecture to the academic community of the Faculty.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. title received within the last 8 years by starting date (exceptions are possible in cases of parental leave and long-term sickness), professional experience and publication record in the area, international experience.
