Overview

The Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, announces a selection procedure for a job position in connection with the implementation of the project « Implementation of the Teacher Education Reform at the UO: Competency Education based on Practice, Research, Internationalization and Cooperation with the Clinical School. »

Job description

·         Carrying out independent research activities focused on didactics, education science or educational psychology (obligation to apply for a scientific grant)

·

·         Engaging in teaching undergraduate courses (language of instruction: English, Czech, Slovak)

·         Supervision of bachelor’s and diploma theses

·         Participation in international conferences

 

Designation of the applicant’s international research profile specification

·         R2 – Recognized

 

Estimated amount of employment

·         Full-time (or by agreement)

 

Qualification and other prerequisites

Following the terms of the project, a foreign academic worker is defined as « an employee who, during the last 5 years, has worked outside the territory of the Czech Republic for at least 2 years as an academic worker at a university for at least 0.5 full-time, or has been a PhD student at a foreign university. Citizens of the Czech Republic are not excluded. »

 

·         A PhD degree in general/subject didactics, education science, or educational psychology

·         Significant research potential and accomplishment demonstrated by a record of peer-reviewed publications

·         Previous experience in submitting and implementing research projects

·         Experience of at least 2 years at a foreign university or PhD studies at a foreign university in the last 5 years

·         Experience with inclusive education is welcome

·         Sound oral and written communication skills in English

·         EU research level: R2 Recognized

 

 

 

 

Estimated start date

·         January 1, 2025 (or by agreement) until December 31. 2026

 

Wage conditions

·         In accordance with the Internal Wage Regulations of the OU and the conditions of the IMPREF project for the position of Assistant Professor, full-time 100 per cent (1.0) = CZK 70,000 before taxation

The dean of the faculty reserves the right to invite only selected applicants to a personal meeting and, at the same time, the right not to choose any applicant. The dean can also cancel or repeat the selection process.
